Does the Read Out Loud function read the PDF in a logical way, preserving the order of the text and various sections?
Answer: Sometimes
Score: 1
Notes: For the most part, yes. It is even able to read the image-only pdf, although it cannot read the table on that pdf properly. I also struggles with the signatures of one of the forms - it reads each line straight across instead of down, so Licensee ALA Name Name Title Title Signature Signature Date Date.
Does the Read out Loud function avoid problematic elements such as excessive blank spaces read as “blank”?
Answer: Sometimes
Score: 1
Notes: Forms with long lines - underscores - the read out loud function reads as underscore for as many characters as the line occupies. So, for example, Email underscoreunderscoreunderscoreunderscoreunderscoreunderscoreunderscoreunderscoreunderscore etc. So for one form that is mostly long lines that the user must fill in, this is very frustrating. Also, on one form where there are check boxes, the read out loud function reads all three words on the line, and then says check box graphic three times.

Answer: Always
